Installation Steps
Step 1: Remove OEM Roof Rails
-
If your Bronco has OEM roof rails:
- Use the special tool located in your glove box to remove the rear feet.
- Remove the remaining bolts with a 10mm socket.
-
If your Bronco lacks OEM rails:
- Remove the two caps at the top of the windshield using a flathead screwdriver.
- Beneath the caps, unscrew the black plastic pieces with a 10mm socket.
Step 2: Modify the Windshield Caps
- Drill a 3/16” hole in each cap at the designated location (refer to the provided diagram for accuracy).
- Trim the top 7/8” of the cap with a saw or cutoff wheel for proper fitment.
- Attach the cap mounting brackets to the caps using a 3/8” wrench. Ensure they are oriented correctly.
Step 3: Assemble the Front Section of the Rack
- Install the front mounting feet onto the studs exposed in the previous step.
- Use the OEM black flange nuts (10mm) with a dab of threadlocker for security.
- Attach two crossbars to the front section of the rack using screws and washers.
Step 4: Apply Rubber Pads
- Clean the marked locations on the rack using isopropyl alcohol to ensure proper adhesion.
- Apply the rubber pads to the indicated areas on both the front ("F") and rear ("R") mounting brackets.
Step 5: Install the Rear Mounting Feet
- Attach the four short mounting feet to the partially assembled rack.
- Ensure they are positioned as high up in the slot as possible to maximize contact with the roof.
Step 6: Place the Rack on the Vehicle
- Lift the partially assembled rack and carefully set it onto the roof.
- Secure the front and rear side rail halves to the mounting feet using screws and washers.
- Tighten loosely at this stage to allow for adjustments.
Step 7: Connect the Side Rails
- Use the connector brackets to join the front and rear halves of the side rails.
- Install screws and washers, leaving them hand-tight until alignment is complete.
Step 8: Install the Wind Deflector
- Assemble the wind deflector by attaching the T-nuts and screws.
- Use threadlocker on the bolts for added security.
- Attach the noise-reducing edge trim to the deflector and trim any excess material.
- Mount the wind deflector to the crossbar. For optimal fit, use the middle slot on the deflector’s mounting brackets.
Step 9: Adjust and Tighten
- Adjust the side rails and mounting feet to align the rack evenly with the roof.
- Tighten all bolts, starting with the mounting feet and progressing to the side rail connector brackets.
Pro Tip: While tightening the short mounting feet, use a pry bar or screwdriver to apply upward pressure on the side rails. This ensures the feet are making firm contact with the roof for maximum stability.
Final Touches
- Recheck all bolts and connections for tightness.
- Ensure the wind deflector is flush with the front of the rack.
- Test the rack's stability by gently pushing on it—there should be no movement.
